Rezumat

Etnonimul „boscor/bozgor” este prezentat de unii cercetători sau politicieni maghiari adepți ai corectitudinii politice ca fiind de dată relativ recentă (1934), că ar fi apărut pe teren absolut gol (ex nihilo) și ar avea conotații exclusiv peiorative sau ofensatoare. În realitate, acest etnonim este de o vechime apreciabilă în limba română, are o paradigmă lexicală cuprinzătoare și o largă arie a răspândirii. Etnonimul „boscor/ bozgor” (exonim) derivă din etnonimul „bașkir” (endonim). Împrumutarea lui în limba română s-ar fi putut produce între sec. IX și XIV, perioadă în care prezența masivă a bașkirilor în Câmpia Panonică, alături de maghiari și români, este atestată de către diverși autori străini (bizantini, persani sau arabi). Abordarea subiectului trebuie scoasă din sfera subiectivismului, manipulării și corectitudinii politice, rezumându-se strict la metodele și instrumentele cercetării științifice obiective.
